HONG KONG, April 18 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 jolted the Kermadec Islands Region at 10:47:55 GMT on Saturday, the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 31.99 degrees south latitude and 177.88 degrees west longitude. ■
